We live today thanks to our national heroes.
Heroes who fought for our freedom…..
Heroes who fought for our rights…..
Heroes who fought for nation…..
The Men who stood, who fought,
who gave their life for SriLanka......

Their successes continue to give hope and encouragement to us today, as we face the challenges of maintaining our sense of dignity and pride. Indeed, we need not look outside of SriLanka for other plastic heroes as we stand up for "justice, brotherhood and peace". We have to admire and care for our heroes who gave their lives for our future.
The SriLankans who died in the tragic terrorist attacks included our too many young men in armed services who proudly served our nation in wars. As SriLankans, we recognize that some of our young men in uniform may die or be tragically disabled before our nation returns to peace. And our government must recognize that it is a national duty and a sacred obligation to ensure that when they come home they not only return to a hero's welcome, but that they also receive the finest medical treatment and benefits that our nation can provide, and as some gave their lives for the nation then our duty is to take care of their families, and let them feel protected, loved and cared

A representative of the General Ranjan Wijeratne Foundation makes a token presentation to the Commander Sri Lanka Air force, of a foldable stretcher from a batch of 20 nos. These were donated by a lady in memory of her late husband who was a senior Air Force Officer. These stretchers which were imported from Italy are currently being used in the Air Force medical institutions located in the operational areas. These units ensures additional safety to the lives of critically injured personnel, whilst being taken off the battle fields and transported for urgent medical attention. The items which are of the latest design provides a vast improvement in the manner in which Casvac Ops had to be performed earlier. Being foldable and compact they can be carried in helicopters all the time. We wish to thank Director Health Services SLAF for his consultative advise provided in this regard.
