The General Ranjan Wijeratne foundation was formed to continue his vision for our Motherland by lending firm support to the Armed Forces, The STF and the Police. The support comes in two distinct forms, one is to provide Welfare Services and the other being to give Morale and Publicity support to the patriotic men and women of the forces that he led and was a part of, by being the de facto Commander-in- Chief at the height of the Southern Insurgency until his untimely death. He was initially a Lt-Colonel and was posthumously promoted as a full General.
ON 3RD JAN Ms FEDERICA JANSZ, EDITOR OF THE ANTI-PRESIDENT SUNDAY LEADER,OPENLY DECLARED THAT THE PAPER'S PREFERRED PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE 'SF' AS BEING INDECISIVE,UNPATRIOTIC,VACILLATING AND A LIAR. THIS WAS IN RESPONSE TO FONY DESPERATELY TRYING TO RECANT THE NOW INFAMOUS STATEMENT OF THE WHITE FLAG EPISODE MADE TO THE NEWSPAPER. ON 27TH JAN THE HUGE PATRIOTIC SILENT MAJORITY AND SOME PATRIOTS IN THE UNP AND JVP ECHOED THIS OBSERVATION. IN ADDITION, FOR HIS BETRAYAL OF THE ARMY AND EMBRACING THE REMNANTS OF THE LTTE IN HIS LUST FOR POWER, THEY DEALT A DECISIVE DEATH-BLOW . EVEN HIS PATHETIC SANTA CLAUS UTERANCES FAILED TO IMPRESS AN INTELLIGENT MAJORITY. IN THE WORDS OF ABRAHAM LINCOLN........ 'ONE CANNOT FOOL ALL THE PEOPLE ALL THE TIME'. AS IN SHAKESPEARE CASSIUS TELLS BRUTUS 'THE FAULT IS NOT IN OUR STARS BUT IN OURSELVES'.
THOSE WHO SOUGHT TO SOW THE WIND OF TREACHERY HAD TO REAP THE DEVASTATING WHIRLWIND OF PATRIOTIC FERVOUR.IT WAS THEIR SWANSONG!
HAVING FAILED MISERABLY TO STOP THE RE-ELECTION OF H.E MAHINDA RAJAPAKSHE, FONY AND SOME OF HIS CRONIES ARE SHOUTING FOUL. THIS IS DESPITE RANIL, THE ANTI-PATRIOTIC GREEN, ADMITTING DEFEAT AS A GENTLEMAN, CLEARLY ENDORSING THE PEOPLE'S MANDATE. IT IS HIS ALMA MATER STUPID! FURTHERMORE THE RESPECTED ELECTION COMMISSIONER HAS ENDORSED THE RESULTS, BUT VIRULENT ATTACKS ON HIM CONTINUE, SO MUCH SO THAT HE CHALLENGES THEM TO RESORT TO COURTS. NOT BEING SATISFIED THEY ARE NOW ADAPTING IRAN TYPE TACTICS PERHAPS AT THE BEHEST OF THEIR WESTERN MASTERS, DISAPPOINTED AT THE FAILURE OF A REGIME CHANGE.IT HAS FAILED THERE. NOW SOME EVIDENCE IS APPEARING OF A PLANNED CONSPIRACY AND THE COUNTRY IS ANXIOUSLY AWAITING THE RESULTS OF NUMEROUS
INVESTIGATIONS. A HERO HAS BECOME A FALLEN IDOL.
THE LARGE SILENT PATRIOTIC MAJORITY IN MILLIONS OUTDID THE THE THOUSANDS THAT ATTENDED THE OPPOSITION RALLIES. THIS INCREDIBLE CLAIM FOR PRESIDENCY IS BEING MADE ON THIS BASIS. THERE IS ALSO THE AGING SOME', THE DESTROYER OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND LIFE IN THE LATE EIGHTEES, THREATENING TO GO TO THE INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS COURTS FOR RELIEF. ONE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH THIS LOT AND THEIR ANTICS! . HOWEVER IT IS SAID THAT THOSE WHOM GOD WISHES TO DESTROY, HE FIRST MAKES THEM MAD. THE DUSTBINS OF HISTORY AWAITS THOSE WHO DARE TO CHALLENGE THE PEOPLES MANDATE. THE TRIPLE GEM WILL ALWAYS PROTECT OUR MOTHERLAND.
IT IS BETTER FOR A LION TO LEAD A HERD OF SHEEP THAN A SHEEP TO LEAD A PRIDE OF LIONS

It's the Military, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the Press.
It's the Military, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of Speech.
It's the Military, not the politicians that ensures our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
It's the Military who salutes The flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag.
